Is Aman at Sea Worth It? Amangati Prices, Suites, and What Is Actually Included

Amangati, the first Aman at Sea yacht, launching in the Mediterranean in May 2027

Aman at Sea is worth it for exactly one kind of traveler: the Aman loyalist who wants the resort experience moved onto the water, in a suite that starts at 530 square feet, with 94 guests on the entire ship. At roughly $7,000 to $8,000 a night per suite, it is the most expensive way to cruise the Mediterranean in 2027, and for anyone who comparison-shops luxury yachts on inclusions alone, Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton will look like better value on paper.

Nobody has sailed this ship yet, including me. Amangati does not welcome its first guests until May 7, 2027. So this is not a review. It is a price and product analysis built from the published fares, the deck plans, and the inclusion list, written for the people now deciding whether to put down a 25 percent deposit on a ship that is still being fitted out in Genoa.

What Is Aman at Sea?

Aman at Sea is the ocean division of Aman, the hotel group behind some of the most private and expensive resorts on land. Its first vessel, Amangati, is a 183-meter motor yacht built by T. Mariotti in Genoa and designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design. The name means “peaceful motion” in Sanskrit.

The numbers explain the positioning:

  • 47 suites, every one with a private balcony
  • 94 guests maximum, with around 207 crew
  • Entry suites start at about 49 square meters (530 square feet) plus a terrace, among the largest standard suites on any vessel this size
  • Four restaurants, a jazz club, a cigar lounge, a cinema, and an 8,000 square foot Aman Spa with eight ocean-facing treatment rooms
  • A marina platform at the stern with direct access to the water, six tenders, and two helipads
  • Developed as a joint venture between Aman and Cruise Saudi

The captain for the inaugural season is Ertan Vasvi, announced in October 2026, who comes from Silversea and Seabourn and was in Genoa for the delivery of two first-in-class ships. That hire tells you who Aman thinks its competition is. It is not the cruise industry. It is the other hotel brands at sea.

How Much Does Aman at Sea Cost?

Pricing is per suite, not per person, the same way Aman prices its resorts. Reported starting fares for the 2027 season:

Voyage length Starting fare (per suite) Roughly per night
5 nights $38,500 $7,700
6 nights (including the maiden voyage) $46,000 $7,650
7 nights $48,000 to $54,600 $6,850 to $7,800
Aman Suite $25,000 to $30,000 per night Priced individually
Full ship charter By request All 47 suites

The Aman Suite is the headline number. At around 1,972 square feet of interior space with a wraparound terrace of about 1,839 square feet, a private lift, its own massage room and sauna, it sold a full week within days of bookings opening, at $25,000 to $30,000 a night.

Reported booking terms: a 25 percent deposit per suite holds the reservation, with final payment due 150 days before departure. Fares are quoted in US dollars and accepted payment methods include major cards and bank wire.

For context, that entry price is roughly 50 percent above what Four Seasons Yachts charges for a comparable week, and several times the per-day cost of the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. Whether the gap is justified comes down to what is in the fare, which is where Aman gets interesting.

What Is Included in the Fare, and What Is Not?

Aman at Sea sits in the middle of the luxury yacht market on inclusions. It is more generous than Four Seasons, which charges extra for lunch, dinner, and all alcohol. It is less inclusive than Ritz-Carlton and Orient Express, which fold nearly everything into the fare.

Included in every Aman at Sea fare:

  • The suite, with daily housekeeping, laundry and pressing, and a dedicated Suite Host
  • All-day dining at Alira, the Mediterranean main restaurant
  • In-suite breakfast, light bites around the yacht, and the gelato bar
  • Soft drinks, coffees, and beer
  • Fitness studio access, daily wellness programming, sauna and steam
  • The marina platform, kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkeling gear
  • Starlink Wi-Fi throughout
  • Cinema, pools, and onboard entertainment
  • All gratuities

Costs extra:

  • Dining at the three specialty restaurants: Akari (Japanese), Hiori (teppanyaki), and the Aman Grill
  • Wine, spirits, and cocktails beyond beer
  • Spa treatments, the Medi Spa, and beauty lounge services
  • Shore excursions, private transfers, helicopter and private yacht charters

Read that list carefully before comparing prices. A couple that dines at the specialty restaurants nightly and drinks wine will spend meaningfully more than the headline fare, on Aman and on Four Seasons alike. On Ritz-Carlton, most of that spend is already in the ticket.

Where Does Amangati Sail in 2027?

The inaugural season is the Mediterranean, May through early November 2027, in voyages of five to eight nights:

  • Maiden voyage, May 7 to 13, 2027: Palma de Mallorca to Nice, calling at Mahon, Barcelona, Palamos, Marseille, and Saint-Tropez
  • Cannes Film Festival sailing: eight nights round trip from Nice, with seven days docked at Cannes during the festival
  • Monaco Grand Prix sailing: five nights round trip from Nice in early June, with two days docked in Monaco
  • Italian Riviera, Corsica, and Capri: June voyages covering Portofino, Elba, Bonifacio, Porto Cervo, Ponza, Naples, and the Amalfi Coast
  • Dalmatian Coast and Adriatic: July and August, including Dubrovnik, Split, Hvar, Kotor, and a sunset passage through Venice’s Grand Canal, a routing very few vessels are permitted
  • Greek Isles, Ionian, and Aegean: late August to October, including Corfu, Athens, Santorini, Mykonos, Crete, Rhodes, and Istanbul

In autumn 2027 the ship crosses the Atlantic, with a 13-night crossing via Cadiz and the Azores, for a Caribbean season that runs through March 2028, including a New Year anchorage in Nevis.

The small ports matter. Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Ponza, and Gozo are places the big luxury ships cannot use. On a 94-guest vessel with six tenders and two helipads, the itinerary is the product as much as the ship is.

Aman at Sea vs Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, and Orient Express

Aman at Sea (Amangati) Four Seasons Yachts Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection Orient Express Corinthian

Suites / guests 47 / 94 95 / about 190 226 / 452 (Luminara) 54 / 110
Entry pricing signal About $7,000 to $8,000 per night per suite Roughly half of Aman for a comparable week About $1,000 to $1,500 per person per day Top of market on peak itineraries
Dining model Main restaurant included, specialty extra Most dining extra Most dining and drinks included Most inclusive of the four
Alcohol Beer and soft drinks included Extra Broadly included Broadly included
Defining trait Space, quiet, wellness, privacy Residential suite sizes, families Scale, choice of itineraries, value Sailing ship, design spectacle

The honest summary: Ritz-Carlton wins on value and itinerary choice today, because its three ships are already sailing. Orient Express wins on spectacle. Four Seasons wins for families. Aman wins on space per guest, crew attention, and the spa, at the highest price in the category. For the full field beyond these four, see our ranking of the 10 best luxury cruise lines for 2026.

Who Should Book Aman at Sea, and Who Should Skip It?

Book it if:

  • You already stay at Aman resorts and want that exact atmosphere at sea
  • Privacy is the point: 94 guests, no crowds anywhere, ever
  • Wellness is a real part of your trip, not a brochure line. An 8,000 square foot spa with treatment rooms that open onto private terraces is a serious commitment of ship space
  • Amangati Aman Spa ocean-view whirlpool bath and daybed

  • You want the Cannes or Monaco event sailings, where the ship is your hotel in the two hardest-to-book weeks on the Riviera
  • You are considering a full charter. A 47-suite ship is buyable in a way a 226-suite ship is not

Skip it if:

  • You want all-inclusive certainty. The specialty restaurants and the wine list will add up
  • You are a first-time luxury cruiser testing the category. Ritz-Carlton delivers most of the experience at a fraction of the price, on ships you can board this year
  • You need itinerary breadth. One ship means one region at a time
  • You are booking on points or status. There is no loyalty currency play here yet

The Verdict

Is Aman at Sea worth it? For the Aman devotee, yes, and it is not close. Nothing else at sea offers 47 suites, a two-to-one crew ratio, and this much square footage per guest, and the Mediterranean routing with the Cannes, Monaco, and Venice moments is genuinely well aimed.

For everyone else, the value case is unproven until the ship sails and the specialty dining bills come in. The smart move for the curious is to watch the maiden season reviews in May and June 2027, then book the Greek Isles or Caribbean departures with real information in hand. For a broader read on the category, see our guide on whether small ship cruises are worth it.

What Aman is really selling is the same thing it sells on land: silence, space, and staff who know your name by the second day. If that is what you buy hotels for, the price per night is simply what it costs. If it is not, the Mediterranean has never had more excellent ways to spend less.
