Andy Morin is an American record producer, engineer and keyboardist best known as one third of Death Grips. He was born on May 16, 1986, which makes him 40 years old. He is not publicly confirmed as a current Death Grips member.
Death Grips said in April 2025 that they “remain active,” but Morin did not sign the statement. He has never publicly explained why. That silence is the source of most of the “why did Andy Morin leave Death Grips” searches.
This article separates what is documented from what is rumor. It covers his age, his career, the leaked 2025 message, the 2022 allegation, and the confusion around the Andy Morin Sports Complex in Folsom.

Is Andy Morin Flatlander?
This is one of the most confusing parts of his profile. He used the name “Flatlander” on early releases such as Exmilitary. The credits for “Inanimate Sensation” also list him as Andy “Flatlander” Morin.
Yet the Death Grips page says the band clarified in interviews that he is not “AKA Flatlander.” Sources conflict, so this article treats the alias as disputed. Reading it as a credit name used on some releases is the safest summary.
Career in Death Grips
Morin served as the band’s lead producer and engineer, and as its keyboardist. On Exmilitary he is credited with keyboards, programming and production.
On Year of the Snitch he is credited with keyboards, co-production, recording engineering and lyrics. He also co-wrote and co-produced “Guillotine,” which lists Morin and Hill as producers.

Why Did Andy Morin Leave Death Grips?
No source reviewed contains a statement from Morin explaining a departure. What exists is a leaked message and an unsigned band statement. Everything beyond that is inference.
In February 2025, screenshots circulated in which Morin allegedly wrote “Yeah it’s over” about the group. He reportedly added that Stefan “doesn’t want to do [it] anymore,” and that none of them could predict what would happen.
Did Andy Morin Get Kicked Out of Death Grips?
Searches for “Andy Morin kicked out of Death Grips” are common, but no reliable source reviewed says he was fired or expelled. Outlets said only that it “appears” the band parted ways with him.
Billboard noted that his missing signature “potentially” suggests the group may continue as a duo. That is a reading of the evidence, not a confirmed explanation.
Timeline of the 2025 Breakup Rumor
| Date | Event | Evidence |
| Feb 8 to 9, 2025 | Screenshots of a Morin message spread online | Uproxx, Feb 9, 2025 |
| Apr 8, 2025 | Death Grips post a statement saying they remain active | The Fader |
| Apr 2025 | Statement is signed by Burnett and Hill only | Billboard |
| Nov 2025 | Band says a new album is in the works | Death Grips (Wikipedia) |
Is Andy Morin Still in Death Grips?
Publicly, the answer is unclear. The post confirming the band was active was signed only by Hill and Ride. The later announcement of a new album also carried no signature from Morin.
Nobody has stated that he is out, and nobody has stated that he is in. No newer verified development was found in the reliable sources reviewed.
Andy Morin Allegations: What Is Known
This topic needs careful wording. Primetimer reports that a woman named Nichole Fitch, who dated Morin from 2016 to 2021, posted a photo on Instagram in February 2022. The outlet says she described an “emotionally and verbally abusive” relationship.
Primetimer says Morin never responded. I found no police report, lawsuit or court record about this in the sources reviewed. It remains an allegation, and nothing in the sources establishes it as proven.
Evidence Check
- Confirmed: A 2022 Instagram story exists, as described by secondary outlets
- Source type: A single entertainment outlet, not a primary record
- What it shows: One person’s public account of her own experience
- What remains unclear: The full context, any response from Morin, and any legal outcome
What About the Jazmin Bean Connection?
Searchers often pair “Jazmin Bean” with Morin’s name. I found no reliable source linking Jazmin Bean to any allegation involving him.
The only documented link I found is a creative one. Producer Jessica Winter said in an interview that she recently worked on a song with Morin. Winter also works with Jazmin Bean, but that does not tie Bean to Morin directly. Unsupported rumors are not repeated here.
Andy Morin Sports Complex in Folsom
This is a separate subject. The Andy Morin Sports Complex is a community recreation venue serving adults and youth in Folsom. It is at 66 Clarksville Road, Folsom, CA 95630.
I could not confirm whom the facility is named after, and no source reviewed connects it to the Death Grips producer. The 61,070-square-foot complex includes indoor and outdoor basketball courts and soccer fields, indoor volleyball and batting cages.
| Detail | Information |
| Location | 66 Clarksville Road, Folsom, CA |
| Operator | City of Folsom Parks and Recreation |
| Sports | Basketball, volleyball, soccer, table tennis, batting cages, dodgeball, kickball |
| Pickleball | Seven indoor wood courts listed on Pickleheads |
