Hotel Pelirocco: A Personal Journey Into Brighton’s Artistic Heart

During my recent visit to Brighton, I stumbled upon something truly special—a gem tucked away in the heart of the city that encapsulated everything I love about creative spaces. Hotel Pelirocco, a quirky and vibrant boutique hotel, quickly became the highlight of my stay. It wasn’t just a place to rest my head; it was a place that welcomed me with open arms, a perfect blend of rock ‘n’ roll energy, artistic spirit, and seaside charm.

Getting to Brighton from Gatwick Airport was a breeze. I hopped on a train right at the airport, and just three stops later, I was in the heart of the city. From the train station, it was an easy 15-minute walk to the hotel, and as I strolled down the streets, I could already feel the pulse of Brighton’s creative energy building. The sea breeze hit my face as I approached the hotel, and I couldn’t wait to experience what awaited me inside.

From the moment I walked into Hotel Pelirocco, I knew it was going to be an unforgettable stay. The hotel is a masterpiece of creativity, with each of its rooms uniquely designed to tell a different story. Alis, one of the staff members, greeted me with such kindness and warmth that I immediately felt at home. Her welcoming nature set the tone for what would be an extraordinary experience and Marko, one of the longest-serving staff members, later explained to me, the hotel nurtures and supports the arts, showcasing rotating exhibitions and permanent murals. It wasn’t just a place to stay—it was a place where art came to life. As an artist myself, this connection made my stay even more meaningful, as if I had found a creative haven within the city.

I stayed in the salon rouge, a romantic retreat adorned with soft pink walls and famous Parisian-themed décor. Fresh from an eight-month stay in France, I felt an immediate sense of nostalgia as I soaked in the room’s ambiance. The vintage records from the 1930s added a special touch, turning my evenings into a cozy time capsule of music and memories. Each room in the hotel tells a unique story, from the dreamy Rock Star room, filled with memorabilia and vintage posters, to the eclectic Royale Room, offering its own whimsical charm.

The warmth and friendliness of the staff made the experience even more special. Marko, with his extensive knowledge of the hotel’s history, not only made me feel at home but also mixed the best old-fashioned cocktail I’ve ever had. One of the standout aspects of Hotel Pelirocco is its deep connection to the local arts scene. Every room is adorned with pieces from local artists, making it feel like you’re staying in a living gallery. Walking through the halls, I was captivated by the colorful murals and the sense of creativity that seemed to flow from every corner.I found myself completely immersed in the music, the warmth of the space, and its undeniable charm. To top it all off, the included breakfast added a delightful start to my mornings, making the experience even more unforgettable.

Beyond the artistic allure, the hotel’s location is perfect. Just a short walk away, Brighton’s famous seafront awaits, where the waves crashing against the shore and the salty breeze create a calming contrast to the city’s vibrant energy. The hotel’s proximity to the beach offered a peaceful escape while keeping me connected to Brighton’s buzzing cultural heart.

For me, Hotel Pelirocco was more than just a place to stay—it was an experience that celebrated art, music, and the creative spirit of Brighton. The themed rooms, the pink walls, and the nurturing atmosphere made it feel like a home away from home for an artist like me. If you’re an adventurous traveler or a creative soul, this is the place to stay.
