- Check a live sports app (ESPN, ClutchPoints, or the NBA app) shortly before tip-off for status updates.
As of this writing, Brunson has been reported “fully cleared” for the 2026–27 season after offseason wrist surgery, with no long-term absence expected.
Jalen Brunson Jersey Number
Brunson wears No. 11 for the New York Knicks. At Villanova, he wore No. 1, which the school retired (alongside honoring former coach Jay Wright) in recognition of his college career and two national titles.
Knicks jerseys bearing Brunson’s No. 11 are sold through official NBA retail channels and the Knicks’ team store; this article does not link to third-party resellers to avoid endorsing unverified merchandise sources.
Jalen Brunson Shoes: The Kobe 6 Connection
Unlike many NBA stars of his stature, Brunson has never received his own signature sneaker. Instead, he has become one of the league’s most prominent ambassadors for Nike’s revived Kobe Bryant “Protro” line, regularly debuting Player Exclusive (PE) colorways of the Nike Kobe 6 Protro.
Notable Brunson Kobe 6 PEs include:
- “Statue of Liberty” (Hyper Turquoise): Debuted during the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals and released at retail for 190–200 during Holiday 2025, inspired by the New York Harbor landmark.
- “Sunrise”: Worn during the 2025–26 regular season.
- “Knightfall Vader”: A Star Wars-inspired colorway debuted in May 2026.
- Additional PEs debuted throughout the 2026 playoffs and NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden.
Rather than pushing for a namesake shoe, Brunson has reportedly chosen to build the Kobe brand’s visibility instead — a decision framed by commentators as consistent with his team-first, below-market contract approach with the Knicks.
Becky Hammon And Jalen Brunson: What’s The Real Connection?
There is no personal or professional relationship between Jalen Brunson and Becky Hammon, the Las Vegas Aces’ WNBA head coach and longtime former San Antonio Spurs assistant coach. The search interest connecting their names appears to stem from a single sports commentary piece describing the Knicks’ 2026 title win over the San Antonio Spurs — the organization Hammon spent years coaching for — as defeating “Becky Hammon and all odds,” a rhetorical flourish referencing the Spurs’ pedigree, not any direct link between the two individuals.
Fact status: unconfirmed/misattributed — treat any implication of a direct relationship between Brunson and Hammon as inaccurate.
