LA Pride Announces 2026 Theme “Rise With Pride” as the Iconic Parade Returns to Hollywood

Each June, Los Angeles transforms into a vibrant celebration of identity, community, and visibility during LA Pride. For 2026, the city’s longest-running LGBTQ+ celebration is preparing to return with a message that captures both reflection and forward momentum. The Christopher Street West Association (CSW), the nonprofit organization behind LA Pride, has officially unveiled the theme for the 56th Annual LA Pride Parade: “Rise With Pride.”

Set to take place on Sunday, June 14, 2026, the parade and the return of Pride Village, a free public gathering space, will once again bring thousands of participants and spectators to the heart of Hollywood. More than just a celebration, LA Pride continues to evolve as a platform for advocacy, access, and community connection across Los Angeles.

A Theme That Celebrates Strength and Collective Progress

The 2026 theme, “Rise With Pride,” reflects the enduring resilience and growth of the LGBTQIA+ community. As LA Pride marks its 56th year, the theme serves both as a celebration of progress and a call to continue building a more inclusive future.

Lawrence Carroll, President of the CSW Board, emphasized that the theme represents more than a slogan. It speaks to the responsibility of listening to and supporting the community while continuing to innovate and expand Pride’s impact.

According to Carroll, the organization remains committed to balancing celebration with purpose, focusing on accessibility, sustainability, and meaningful community engagement. While LA Pride has become one of the city’s most recognizable cultural events, its mission remains rooted in service and representation for the diverse communities that call Los Angeles home.

Hollywood Prepares to Welcome the Parade and Pride Village

The LA Pride Parade route will begin at Sunset Boulevard and Highland Avenue, traveling north to Hollywood Boulevard, continuing east to Cahuenga Boulevard, and looping south back to Sunset Boulevard.

Alongside the parade, Pride Village will stretch across Hollywood Boulevard from Vine Street to Gower Street, creating a lively public hub filled with performances, community resources, vendors, nonprofit organizations, and cultural programming. Free and open to the public, the Village remains one of the most accessible ways for residents and visitors to participate in Pride celebrations.

Applications for both the parade and Pride Village participation are now open, welcoming community organizations, performers, brands, and advocates who want to be part of the celebration.

Jeff Hiller Named Celebrity Grand Marshal

Leading the 2026 parade as Celebrity Grand Marshal is Emmy Award-winning actor and comedian Jeff Hiller.

Hiller received the 2025 Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy for his role as Joel in HBO’s Somebody Somewhere, a performance that resonated deeply with audiences for its warmth and authenticity. His career includes numerous television appearances, including American Horror Stories, 30 Rock, The McCarthys, Impastor, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. He also starred as a series regular on the Pop Network’s Nightcap.

Beyond television, Hiller continues to explore storytelling through multiple creative avenues. In 2025 he published his memoir, Actress of a Certain Age, and recently completed a run of his one-man show, Jeff Hiller is Basic, at Joe’s Pub at The Public Theatre in New York City. His upcoming projects include guest appearances on several television series and the development of new projects with Zachary Quinto’s Before The Door Productions.

Shirley Raines Remembered as Legacy Grand Marshal

The Legacy Grand Marshal honor for 2026 recognizes the extraordinary life and impact of Shirley “Ms. Shirley” Raines (1967–2026).

Raines, founder of Beauty 2 the Streetz, transformed street outreach in Los Angeles through her unique philosophy that beauty and self-care are essential human rights. Following the tragic loss of her young son, she dedicated her life to serving the unhoused community of Skid Row.

Through Beauty 2 the Streetz, Raines and her volunteers provided meals, hygiene supplies, hair coloring, makeovers, and mobile shower services to thousands of individuals. Her work focused not only on meeting basic needs but restoring dignity and confidence.

Her advocacy reached global audiences, earning her the 2021 CNN Hero of the Year Award and a 2025 NAACP Image Award for her powerful social media presence, which highlighted the stories of those living on Skid Row.

Raines passed away in January 2026 at age 58, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and service that continues through the organization she built.

Pride Beyond the Parade: The “Pride 365” Mission

While the parade remains the most visible expression of LA Pride, the organization continues to expand its impact through Pride 365, a year-round initiative designed to support and uplift the LGBTQ+ community across Los Angeles.

Upcoming programs include Trans Self-Care Sunday on March 29, the Countdown to Pride fundraiser on May 2, and the second annual Christopher Street West Day on June 28. The organization also hosts its Salon Series, which focuses on dialogue, education, and community engagement.

Through initiatives like Pride Makes a Difference, CSW partners with nonprofit organizations, neighborhood groups, and community leaders to ensure that Pride remains an ongoing movement rather than a single moment each year.

A Celebration That Continues to Grow

More than five decades after organizing the world’s first permitted LGBTQ+ parade in 1970, the Christopher Street West Association continues to shape the future of Pride in Los Angeles.

With the 2026 theme “Rise With Pride,” the upcoming parade and Pride Village promise to honor the history of the movement while celebrating the voices and leaders who continue to move it forward.

As Hollywood prepares to host another powerful moment of visibility and celebration, LA Pride remains a reminder that community, resilience, and authenticity are the foundations of lasting change.
