There is nothing wrong with loving the car that you have. It might have even served you well for years, but with that said, you do need to make sure that you are continually assessing its condition and how much life it has left. Another sign that you should look into buying a new car is if you are holding on just for nostalgia’s sake. It may be that you need to cut the cord and sell up. This is especially the case if you know that you have a very old car, or if you have a car that you know isn’t doing what you need it to do anymore. If you want to work around this, then you need to make sure that you really give some thought to the car you have and whether or not it is going to last you much longer.

If you are having to refill any of your car’s vital fluids, whether it is coolant or brake fluid, then this is a big sign that your car is on the verge of breaking down. If you want to stop this, then acting now is one of the best things you can do. Take your car to a local mechanic, because when you do, they can take a look at the issue and ultimately make sure that it’s not something serious. Even if it is, you can choose not to deal with it now and instead, sell the car.
Unusual Noises
If your car is making way more unusual noises or if you know that it is shifting when you change gears, then this is a big sign that you need to try and have a local mechanic look at it. It may be that the drivetrain has gone on your car, or that you need to have it urgently repaired. Either way, if you do not deal with this issue, then you may find that things get worse and that you end up with a very costly repair on your hands.

If you find that your car is getting more recalls, then this is another big sign that you need to try and do something about this. Recalls are one of the earliest signs that your car is on its way out. If your oil light is on, then you will want to pull over and ask for help, but if you have other lights on as well, then this is a big sign that you need to get your car checked out by a local mechanic.
Feeling Something Off
Sometimes, you may feel as though your car is not working as it should be. If this is the case, then you need to try and take note of the issue, so you can explain it to your local mechanic. These sensations could even suggest a mechanical issue, which again you will need to get checked out before you run your car into the ground and make things worse.
