Voiceover is a curious profession. Voice actors spend a lot of time doing things like reading important information, telling stories, selling products and services, creating memorable characters, and fighting and dying in video games (just to take a drink of water and do it all over again). And for the vast majority of this work we do, we’re all by ourselves in a padded room, talking into a microphone.
This is why opportunities to meet, network, interact, and learn from other voice actors are so important. And why every year, when March rolls around, the largest gathering of voice actors in the WORLD comes to Atlanta, Georgia, and the VO Atlanta Conference to reconnect with peers, network with colleagues, and learn from the best in the business.
VO Atlanta started in 2013 with a simple idea; bringing people together around a common interest – building a great community. VO Atlanta has done this by partnering with quality presenters and sponsors to bring value and an exciting experience to members of the voiceover community whether they be seasoned pros or beginners. It started small, but has now grown to host the largest audience of attendees in the industry.
When the original owner decided after 10 years to hang up his producer hat, J. Michael Collins, a successful long-time voice actor, coach and demo producer, and his wife Anna, an event planning expert who also runs successful Europe-based voiceover retreats, took over the reins, ensuring that this beloved event would continue for years to come. In the very first year of their stewardship, the conference hosted over 1,000 attendees and continues strong every year.
VO Atlanta attracts a diverse lineup of professionals, including casting directors, agents, coaches, celebrity talent, and working voice actors. Over the course of four days, the event features more than 200 panels, breakout sessions, and X-Session intensives covering a wide range of topics—from performance techniques and booking more work to mental and physical well-being and running a successful business.
Beyond the educational sessions, VO Atlanta offers numerous networking opportunities and entertainment events, creating a dynamic and engaging experience. Lunch is included on Friday and Saturday, providing the perfect setting to connect with fellow attendees over a meal.
For many in the industry, VO Atlanta has become an essential part of their professional journey. Year after year, attendees return to see familiar faces, gain new insights, and stay inspired by fresh content. The event never feels repetitive—there is always something new to learn, making it an invaluable investment for any voice actor.
In terms of return on investment, a single attendee can participate in up to 25 hours of sessions through the General Content track alone—an unparalleled educational opportunity at an incredible value. Additionally, every session (except for X-Sessions) is recorded, with access to replays included in the ticket price. This ensures that attendees can revisit valuable content or catch up on sessions they may have missed.
For many voice actors, VO Atlanta has been a career-defining experience, offering education, motivation, and a sense of community that keeps them coming back year after year. Those looking to elevate their voiceover careers should not miss this opportunity.
