Jorge Perez started out as an agent for artists and brands.  But…he is now much more than that.  He is the official “GO TO GUY” in Hollywood.  Whether it is to book Jennifer Lopez to go to the Middle East for a last minute gig or to help Richard Branson put together a concert to help free Venezuela, he gets the job done.  Jorge connects opportunities for all different types of people and industries.   His ultimate goal is to make sure that everyone around him is taken care of…both professionally and personally.

Tell me about your background. Where are you from?

I was born in Venezuela but raised in Miami.  My background is Cuban, Peruvian, Italian and Venezuelan…I am a mutt.  I think that’s why I love everyone, because I feel that I am everyone lol.

I started out in PR and marketing, producing photo shoots.   I have always wanted to be creative which is why I pursued some acting and stand-up comedy as well.  But alas my truest talent and passion has been connecting people with opportunities that change their lives, this is what makes me a passionate agent and producer..

How do you work with brands and artists?

Under my agency, Jorge Perez Reps, I connect all different types of deals between artists and brands.  I started out producing photo shoots and representing photographers but now it’s a lot more diverse.  I have an intuitive feeling about what brand should work with what specific artist.  This intuition has grown to also creative directing, real estate investing and even guiding my clients into powerful meditations and spiritual practices.

What is your process for connecting people?

My process always starts with curiosity.  My mind is always thinking about how I can help people and make a positive impact in their life.  Sometimes my biggest connections were not about money at all, but they have been the most rewarding.  I once got a friend to take a personal development course that enabled him to finally talk to his dad after 10 years of not being in communication.  Now that is connecting!

How do you achieve higher consciousness?

I am an avid meditator.  I meditate about 4 times per day.  I am also obsessed with personal development work and I follow the teachings of: Abraham Hicks, Landmark, Bruce Lipton, Bob Proctor, Byron Katie, Napoleon Hill, Tony Robbins, Beatriz Alvarez, Louise Hay..and so many others…but I have to say the one that is BLOWING my mind these days is Joe Dispenza.  Joe truly merges spirituality and science and creates a language about it that is very easy to digest.  I am experiencing some of the biggest breakthroughs of my life because of his work!

Why is gratitude so important?

Gratitude is the bloodline of creating one’s life.  When we are in a state of gratitude we are not lacking anything, and therefore we become a magnet for the things that we want.

One’s reality is achieved through the thoughts one believes in their head. How do you take a thought and manifest it into your dreams?

The trick for me is to keep thinking a thought and will it into existence.  I take the approach of: “Fake it till you make it.”  If at first we don’t fully believe, keep mentioning it or visualizing it until you do.  It really is just like a muscle that you keep on working on and you watch it grow.  But I also believe that we need to access the subconscious mind through meditation, this is the only way that we are going to be able to truly transform and essentially only produce the thoughts that we want to think.  If we don’t access the subconscious mind, transformation will be a very long and slow process.

Everyone has a past…sometimes, it can be quite dark. How would you suggest letting go of your past so that you can achieve great results for the future?

The first step that everyone should take is to surrender to the way things are without making yourself wrong.  After that I would get into some good Joe Dispenza meditation (which you can get free ones on YouTube) and start doing 1 per day in the morning.  Mindset is just like the physical body, you need to go to the gym a few times before seeing results.  After a couple of weeks of meditation you will start to see how you have made peace with your life and you are no longer fighting yourself or the world.  In my experience you get full access to the Matrix and life becomes so fun and unpredictable that you never want to get off this ride.

What is the best way of connecting with someone?

I think listening is still the most powerful way to connect with people.  Everyone wants to be heard.  Listening with intention and full attention is one of the most beautiful experiences anyone could give you.  A lot of times when our friends tell us their stories they don’t even want our advice, they just want to be heard.

How would you recommend anybody to take their career to the next level?

First of all you have to make peace of where you are at, and see the perfection of this moment and be in gratitude in this moment.  Then I would start meditating and visualizing how I want my future to be.  Then finally I would take the actions that will simply come your way from all the energy work that you are doing.  I am all about taking action, but taking action from a place of alignment is the way to go.  When people take action from a place of stress or lack they tend to receive results from this state of being as well.

What are your views on psychedelics?

I think psychedelics are great.  I have done ayahuasca a couple of times and 5MEO once (Yes! I smoked the dried up liquid from glands of the Buffo toad ;).  To me they have been very instrumental for my own healing of pain.  But, to be honest meditation has been so much more impactful for me without doing the actual psychedelics.

Do you have any biohacking practices that you do?

I take a cold shower every morning at 4:30 am.  I also don’t sleep with my phone in my room anymore.  The first thing that I do in the morning after the cold shower is to write 3 pages of journaling. This could be any kind of writing  and it’s just stream of consciousness.  After that I do a 15 min meditation and get my day started.  I definitely think all these things combined is a lot of biohacking activities.

Who inspires you?

My mom is my greatest inspiration.  I am also inspired by my sister Vanessa, who is an incredible pianist.  I think anyone that is willing to do personal work and willing to take responsibility for their life, I find extremely inspirational.  But I would say right now my neighbor Reuvein Korenstein is my greatest inspiration. He is the father of an autistic child and he has created an incredible system for children with autism to get better in communicating.

I am working on some real estate investing deals that are keeping me busy.  I am also working on landing some jobs for my artists, but what I am most excited about is creating this educational program for autistic children with my neighbor Reuvein.  I just recently came back from Israel from working with autistic children there and it was incredible!

What does beauty mean to you?

Beauty means to be with something or someone and loving it exactly the way it is and the way it is not.

How would you describe success?

Success is having the freedom to do what you love, make a great living out of it while helping a lot of people along the way, that is my definition for sure.
