Breakfast is the most overlooked luxury in travel. Everyone talks about the suite, the spa, the view. But the first thing a great hotel actually serves you is breakfast, and at the top of the market, that first meal of the day can cost more than a night in a very good hotel somewhere else.
So we did what we did with suites: we collected the published prices, converted everything to dollars, and ranked them. Twelve of the priciest hotel breakfasts on the planet, from a $52 classic in New York to a four-figure frittata covered in caviar.

The headline finding
There is the $1,000 breakfast, and then there is everything else. The Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata at Norma’s in New York costs nearly eleven times the runner-up, the €78 buffet at the Four Seasons George V in Paris. Nothing else on the list even breaks $100. It is the most lopsided ranking we have ever published, and it tells you something real: at the very top, a hotel breakfast stops being a meal and becomes a stunt, a story, a dare.
Strip out the outlier and a clearer picture emerges. The real market for luxury hotel breakfast sits between $50 and $91 per person, and Paris owns it. Three of the top six are Parisian palaces, which makes sense: in Paris, breakfast is a ceremony, and the palace hotels price it like one.

Closer look: the top three
1. Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata, Norma’s at Le Parker Meridien, New York
Six eggs, a whole lobster, and ten ounces of Sevruga caviar on a bed of fried potatoes. That is the entire pitch, and it has held the Guinness World Records title for the most expensive omelette since the dish launched in 2004. Norma’s, the all-day breakfast institution inside Le Parker Meridien in Midtown Manhattan, still serves it daily, and still lists it at $1,000. For the merely curious, there is a scaled-down $100 version with a smaller caviar portion. It remains the undisputed champion by a margin no other breakfast on earth touches.
2. Buffet breakfast, Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris
At €78 (about $91), the George V’s daily buffet is the priciest standard hotel breakfast we could verify. Served from 7:00 to 11:00 AM, it is the classic Paris palace spread executed at the highest level: the room, the service, and the pastry program doing most of the talking. It also happens to sit inside the hotel with the most expensive suite per square foot on the planet, so the breakfast pricing is entirely on brand.
3. American breakfast, Hôtel Plaza Athénée, Paris
The Plaza Athénée charges €75 (about $88) for its American breakfast, served from 7:00 to 11:00 AM either in the hotel’s two-Michelin-starred restaurant or at Le Relais Plaza. A continental option runs €60 for the lighter appetite. This is breakfast as theater in the 8th arrondissement, and the price reflects the stage as much as the plate.
What the numbers reveal
Paris is the breakfast capital of expensive mornings. George V, Plaza Athénée, and Le Bristol Paris all land in the top six. No other city puts two entries in the ranking, let alone three. The Paris palace breakfast is a distinct product category, and it is priced like one.
The $50 to $91 band is the real market. Eleven of the twelve entries sit here. This is what a top-tier hotel breakfast actually costs in 2026: a serious buffet or a composed set menu, somewhere between fifty and ninety dollars a head. Anything above that is either a stunt or caviar.

Caviar is the cheat code. The $1,000 frittata is a caviar delivery vehicle. So is the Ritz London’s “enhance your breakfast” option: Beluga caviar at £402 for 30 grams. Order that on top of the £56 Full English and your quiet London breakfast sails past $600. The base price gets you into the ranking; the caviar gets you into the record books.
New York holds both extremes. The cheapest entry (The Mark’s $52 Jean-Georges breakfast: two organic eggs any style, roasted potatoes, greens, meat, toast, juice, coffee or tea) and the most expensive entry (Norma’s $1,000 frittata) are both in Manhattan, about two miles apart. The city’s breakfast range is wider than most countries’.
Asia and the Middle East are relative bargains. Raffles Singapore, the Peninsula Hong Kong, and La Mamounia in Marrakech all deliver legendary breakfast spreads for $53 to $77. By this ranking’s standards, that is value territory.

Frequently asked questions
What is the most expensive hotel breakfast in the world?
The Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata at Norma’s, inside Le Parker Meridien in New York: $1,000 per person. It holds the Guinness World Records title for the most expensive omelette.
Why is the Norma’s frittata so expensive?
The price is the ingredients. A six-egg frittata built around a whole lobster and ten ounces of Sevruga caviar, served on fried potatoes. Caviar at that quantity is the entire economics of the dish.
Are these prices per person?
Yes. Every figure in the ranking is normalized to price per person in USD, converted at October 2026 rates. Where hotels price per couple or include service differently, we normalized to a single diner.
How were these numbers verified?
Prices come from the hotels’ own websites and published menu PDFs where available (Plaza Athénée, The Mark), and from booking-partner hotel information pages (Travelocity, Expedia, Trip.com) crawled in September and October 2026 where hotels do not publish breakfast prices directly. Full details are in the methodology note below.

Methodology
This ranking covers twelve luxury hotel breakfasts with verifiable published prices, current as of September to October 2026. Native currencies were converted to USD at approximate October 2026 rates (EUR 1 = USD 1.17, GBP 1 = USD 1.34, CHF 1 = USD 1.20, SGD 1 = USD 0.78, HKD 1 = USD 0.128, MAD 1 = USD 0.108).
A few caveats, stated plainly. Hotel breakfast prices change frequently and many hotels do not publish them on their own sites, which is why booking-partner pages are cited where necessary. Where sources disagreed (Raffles Singapore, Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo), we used the most recently crawled figure. The Norma’s frittata price is exceptionally well documented (Forbes Travel Guide, Guinness World Records, BBC) and the restaurant is confirmed open daily as of October 2026. Prices exclude optional enhancements unless noted, such as the Ritz London’s Beluga caviar supplement.
