The Pyrmont Curaçao opens November 16, 2026, and it is the most significant hotel opening the island has seen in years
The Pyrmont Curaçao opens November 16, 2026, as a 300-room adults-only all-inclusive resort under Marriott’s Autograph Collection, the first Marriott all-inclusive ever on Curaçao and the island’s first adults-only all-inclusive under the Marriott flag. Every room has an ocean view, rates start in the upper US$600 range, and the resort sits on the former Cerro Bonito mansion site along Penstraat in Willemstad’s Pietermaai district, inside the UNESCO World Heritage area. I have not stayed there yet. The doors open in ten days, and this is everything verified so far, plus the numbers I compiled to put it in context.
What The Pyrmont Curaçao is
The Pyrmont Curaçao Beach Resort, Autograph Collection All-Inclusive, Adults Only, is a newly built beachfront resort on the southern coast of Curaçao, close to downtown Willemstad. Marriott’s booking information lists the first available stays from November 16, 2026, and the Curaçao Chronicle confirmed the date in its November 5 report on the opening.
The resort was first announced in 2023. It was originally expected to open earlier in the second half of 2026, and construction delays pushed the debut to mid-November. That delay is worth knowing about, because it explains why some booking sites still show conflicting information. Air Canada Vacations, for example, lists an anticipated December 2026 opening on its hotel page. Marriott’s own booking engine is the fresher source, and it shows November 16 as the first bookable date.
The property is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, the brand’s portfolio of independent, design-led hotels. Autograph Collection properties are built around individual concepts meant to reflect the character of their destinations, rather than following a standardized template. That matters here, because the Pyrmont is being positioned as a distinctly Curaçaoan resort, not a generic Caribbean all-inclusive with a Marriott sign on it.
The resort is adults-only and all-inclusive. That combination is new for Marriott on Curaçao. The island has had all-inclusive resorts before, but never one carrying the Marriott flag, and never an adults-only all-inclusive under that flag.
Another recent adults-only all-inclusive opening to compare is Amàre Cancún.
Where it sits: Penstraat, Pietermaai, and two restored 19th-century houses
The Pyrmont is being developed on the former site of the Cerro Bonito mansion along Penstraat, close to downtown Willemstad in the Pietermaai district. Pietermaai is Willemstad’s historic waterfront quarter, part of the UNESCO-listed old town, known for its pastel Dutch colonial buildings, cafes, galleries, and nightlife. The resort is a short walk from the capital’s restaurants and bars, which is unusual for an all-inclusive. Most Caribbean all-inclusives sit behind gates on isolated stretches of beach. The Pyrmont sits inside a walkable historic neighborhood.
The development incorporates the restoration of two 19th-century landmark residences within the UNESCO World Heritage area. One of them, Kas di Pueblo, was originally named Pyrmont after Queen Emma van Waldeck-Pyrmont of the Netherlands. That is where the resort gets its name. Kas di Pueblo is being renovated into a high-end spa that will open to guests and to the public in 2027.
The project has not been without controversy. The Curaçao Chronicle has reported legal proceedings involving the building permit and objections from nearby residents, and the opening comes amid a broader public debate on the island about large-scale tourism and real estate development. That is part of the story, and it is worth stating plainly rather than smoothing over.

The rooms: 300 rooms, 28 suites, every one with an ocean view
The newly constructed beachfront property will have 300 rooms, including 28 suites, with all accommodations offering ocean views. Some Marriott materials list the room count as 305 rather than 300. The freshest local reporting, from the Curaçao Chronicle on November 5, puts it at 300 rooms with 28 suites, and that is the figure I am using here. The 28 suites work out to 9.3 percent of the room inventory, which is a meaningful suite share for an all-inclusive at this price point.
Rooms were designed with residential warmth in mind, following the Autograph Collection approach of collected, layered interiors rather than identical hotel rooms repeated down a corridor. The resort has not published a room-by-room size breakdown yet, so I am not inventing square footage figures. What is confirmed is that every room faces the ocean, which is a genuine differentiator. Plenty of Caribbean resorts sell a minority of rooms as ocean view and charge a premium for them. Here the ocean view is the baseline.
Eating and drinking: 8 restaurants and 5 bars, including a rooftop bar
The Pyrmont will operate as an adults-only property and feature eight restaurants and five bars, including a rooftop bar. That is 13 food and drink venues across 300 rooms, or roughly one venue for every 23 rooms. For comparison, most large Caribbean all-inclusives run one restaurant or bar for every 40 to 60 rooms. The Pyrmont’s ratio is unusually generous, and it is the clearest signal that Marriott is aiming this property at travelers who care about where they eat, not just that meals are included.
The culinary operation is led by executive chef Martijn Liebregts, appointed on October 22, 2026, according to Food and Beverage Magazine, as reported by the Curaçao Chronicle on October 28. Liebregts is in charge of developing the seven restaurants and bars that were in place at the time of his appointment, plus menu development, kitchen organization, and recruitment and preparation of the culinary team. The resort has also appointed Tirza Garmes as multi-property director of human resources.
One note on the numbers: an October 28 Hotel Interactive report described the resort as having seven restaurants and bars in total. The November 5 Curaçao Chronicle report, which is fresher and closer to the opening, lists eight restaurants and five bars. Venue counts can shift in the final weeks before an opening as spaces are finished and named, and I am going with the most recent figure.
The pool, the boardwalk, and the dive center
Plans include an infinity pool surrounded by private cabanas and daybeds. Along the waterfront, developers are constructing a 250-meter boardwalk and breakwater. The breakwater will create an almost enclosed swimming area for resort guests, which matters on this stretch of coast, where the open sea can be rough.
The 250-meter boardwalk works out to about 820 feet of waterfront promenade. That is a substantial piece of infrastructure for a 300-room resort, and it suggests the property is designed to be walked and lingered on, not just passed through on the way to the beach.
Curaçao is one of the Caribbean’s most important diving destinations, and the Pyrmont will have an on-site dive and water sports center offering diving certification and excursions to explore the island’s coral reefs. An on-site dive center with certification is a real amenity, not a brochure line. It means a guest can arrive without a dive certification and leave with one, without leaving the property.
The team behind the opening
The Pyrmont Curaçao Beach Resort has appointed Rob de Bekker as general manager. De Bekker will oversee preparations for the November opening and subsequently lead a workforce expected to number approximately 350 to 400 employees. That is more than one employee per room, which is a high staffing ratio for an all-inclusive and consistent with the luxury positioning.
Anjali Bakmeijer has been promoted to multi-property director of sales and marketing for The Pyrmont Curaçao and the nearby Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort. The two properties will share some leadership, which is standard practice when a brand opens a second hotel on a small island.
What a stay will cost
According to Marriott’s booking information, initial room rates are being advertised in the upper US$600 range, although prices vary according to dates and room categories. Travel site GateChecked, which tracked the opening through the summer, reported prices hovering around the high $600s.
Do the math on that range, and a seven-night stay at $650 a night comes to $4,550 before taxes and fees, with meals, drinks, and activities included. At $699 a night, the top of the range, the same week is $4,893. That is the honest way to read an all-inclusive rate. The nightly number looks high until you add up what a comparable non-inclusive week in Willemstad would cost: a boutique hotel room, three restaurant meals a day, drinks, and a dive excursion or two. The Pyrmont is priced as a luxury all-inclusive, not a budget one, and the rate puts it in the same conversation as the island’s other upscale options.
No opening promotional rate has been announced. If one appears in the first weeks, it will likely be tied to Marriott Bonvoy, and I will update this article when it does.

The Pyrmont by the numbers: my Curaçao all-inclusive comparison
This is the original data I compiled for this article. No one else has published this comparison, and it is the fastest way to understand where the Pyrmont sits in Curaçao’s hotel market.
- The Pyrmont Curaçao opens November 16, 2026, with 300 rooms, 28 suites, and 13 food and drink venues. Suites are 9.3 percent of rooms. Venues work out to one per 23 rooms. Rates start in the upper $600s.
- TUI BLUE Curaçao opened October 20, 2026, in the Soto area on the island’s west side, with 297 rooms. It opened in phases, with work continuing in some parts of the resort during the opening period. The Pyrmont, at 300 rooms, is three rooms larger, and the two openings land less than four weeks apart.
- Sandals Royal Curaçao opened in 2022. It was the island’s big all-inclusive arrival that year and remains the largest Sandals-style property on the island.
- Zoëtry Curaçao Resort and Spa opened in 2021. It was the first of the current wave of international all-inclusive brands to arrive.
- Curaçao received more than 780,000 stayover visitors in 2025, considerably above pre-pandemic levels, according to the Curaçao Chronicle. That growth is the context for all four of these openings. The island is adding high-end rooms faster than at any point in its history.
Quotable summary: Curaçao will add nearly 600 new all-inclusive rooms in less than a month, with TUI BLUE’s 297 rooms on October 20 and the Pyrmont’s 300 rooms on November 16, 2026, on top of more than 780,000 stayover visitors in 2025.
The coverage audit behind this article: I found six independent outlets covering the Pyrmont’s opening window between late August and November 5, 2026. Travel Weekly reported the Marriott debut on September 15. Travel Market Report covered the leadership appointments on August 25. Caribbean Journal confirmed the November target on September 26. Hotel Interactive reported the chef appointment on October 28. GateChecked tracked the opening date and rates through the summer. The Curaçao Chronicle published the freshest report, with the confirmed November 16 date, on November 5.

What to know before you book
Book through Marriott’s own channels if you want the Bonvoy points and the most flexible cancellation terms. The resort is adults-only, so families with children should look at the Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort instead. The spa in the restored Kas di Pueblo house does not open until 2027, so do not book a November stay expecting the full spa. And if you are planning a trip around the opening date itself, know that new resorts open in stages. The first guests get the newest rooms and the softest service. That is the trade-off of being first, and it is worth going in with eyes open.
