The Black Keys @ Sundance

The 2024 Sundance Film Festival witnessed The Black Keys headlining two consecutive VIP shows at the newly established music venue, The Marquis Park City, in collaboration with LNE Presents. This event also featured an engaging activation by the innovative blockchain-based platform, Film.io, designed for filmmakers, fans, and creators.

The Black Keys left a lasting impression on festival attendees and filmmakers with their mesmerizing performances during “The Premiere Series” at The Marquis Park City. This marked the official inauguration of the state-of-the-art music venue as part of the Sundance Film Festival. The opening act, Gabe Carter, set the stage for The Black Keys’ electrifying shows.

The audience at these sold-out, intimate performances included notable talents such as Emmanuelle Chriqui, Matt Bellamy, Bijou Phillips, Billy Magnussen, Will Forte, Pauly Shore, Peter Shore, Paul Oakenfold, Caroline D’Amore, ‘Lolla’ producer Brian Levy, Jason ‘Jroc’ Craig, Dylan O’Brien, Victoria Pedretti, Joel Michaely, and many others. The legendary rock duo from Akron, Ohio, comprising Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, delivered unforgettable performances each night, backed by a remarkable full band and state-of-the-art lighting.

The iconic rock band treated the audience to approximately 75 minutes of music each night, followed by an encore demanded by the chanting crowd. The Marquis PC, in partnership with LNE Presents, offered concertgoers a unique and extremely intimate setting to experience top artists like The Black Keys – an experience typically reserved for large arenas, grand concert venues, and festivals.

Film.io, represented at the event by https://film.io/, captivated the concertgoers with their activation. This revolutionary decentralized filmmaking ecosystem places decision-making power in the hands of creators and fan ambassadors. The event also featured Red Bull energy and Tito’s Vodka.

The Black Keys also had a presence at the festival to support the new Lolla documentary and promote their upcoming album, offering a sneak peek of their new music to an engaged audience of fans, tastemakers, VIPs, filmmakers, cinephiles, and locals alike.

The Black Keys made history as the first rock band to grace the stage of the new venue on historic Main Street, kicking off the festival following R&B Sensation Leon Bridges’ performance presented by Chase Sapphire the night before. The festival’s lineup included EDM performances from DJ Duo Odesza, Devo, Illenium, and Kaskade. The venue had a soft launch with a performance by rapper Nas over New Year’s weekend, preceding its official debut during Sundance 2024. Upcoming shows featuring Steve Aoki, Dirty Heads, and Goldfish are also on the horizon.
