Asia Society Southern California Gala 2024: A Celebration of Visionaries and Cultural Synergy

On May 19th, the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles was abuzz with the Asia Society Southern California’s 2024 Annual Gala. Coinciding with Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, the gala honored outstanding individuals in various fields who have significantly contributed to promoting and connecting the rich cultural heritage of Asia with the global community.

The gala celebrated visionaries across multiple disciplines:

  • Ray Chen: Recognized as the Music Visionary for his contributions to the world of classical music.
  • Adrian Cheng: Honored as the Art Visionary for his initiatives in integrating art with new business models.

  • Eileen Gu: The Olympic freestyle skier was recognized for her inspiring achievements.
  • Gene Sykes: Chair of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee, noted for his leadership. Dave Roberts, the team’s manager, represented the Dodgers fresh off a win against the Cincinnati Reds, delivering an engaging speech about the cultural exchange fostered through sports.
