A Night of Music, Philanthropy, and Unforgettable Moments at the Playing For Change Foundation’s 2024 Impact Awards

MIAMI, FL (April 15, 2024) – The night of April 13, 2024, will be remembered as a landmark moment in the worlds of music and philanthropy, as the Playing For Change Foundation hosted its 2024 Impact Awards at the prestigious Rubell Museum in Miami, followed by a vibrant after-party at Superblue Miami. The event not only celebrated musical talents but also underscored the profound impact of the arts in driving social change.

The Impact Awards recognized several global music icons for their philanthropic efforts and influence. Among the honorees were Grammy-nominated singer Ellie Goulding, renowned DJ and producer Diplo, and Italian musical icon Andrea Bocelli along with his wife Veronica. Ellie Goulding and Diplo were present to receive their awards and delighted the audience with their performances, while the Bocellis contributed with a touching virtual appearance.

Ellie Goulding shared her thoughts, emphasizing the transformative power of music: “Music can change lives; it changed mine. I am honored to receive this award from the Playing For Change Foundation, a beacon of global justice and activism.”

The celebration featured a diverse array of performances, highlighting the unifying power of music across different genres. Young Musicians Unite, DJ Note Marcato, and the energetic Hip-Hop Kidz performed, blending their unique sounds with those of the evening’s honorees in a memorable mashup. The after-party, in collaboration with MGM+, kept the excitement alive with electrifying sets from Diplo and SOFI TUKKER.

Diplo expressed his gratitude, stating, “Receiving this acknowledgment is very humbling. Music breaks down barriers and uplifts spirits, and I am proud to contribute to this cause alongside my fellow artists.”

Jake Groshong, CEO of the Playing For Change Foundation, highlighted the organization’s global outreach, which now extends to over 60 locations in 21 countries, positively affecting over 40,000 individuals through music and arts education.

The evening also featured an online charity auction with unique experiences on offer, such as a meeting with magician David Blaine, a luxury wine experience in Napa Valley, and tickets to the 2024 Miami Grand Prix. These efforts aim to further support the Foundation’s mission of creating social and economic change.

The event’s success was made possible by the dedication of its co-chairs and a host committee, who were instrumental in orchestrating the evening. Significant contributions from partners like Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Behringer, and Counter Forced Labor Technology also played a crucial role.

As the 2024 Impact Awards concluded, the resonating message was clear: music has the power to unite, inspire, and enact change, making a difference in communities around the world. The Playing For Change Foundation continues to invite everyone to join their global movement, using the universal language of music to foster community and hope.
